Ready for your close up?
Have you ever been watching your favorite stars and starlets on the red carpet and thought, “I wish I could have a smile like that”? You’re in luck! At Go Dental, you can! Porcelain veneers are a wonderful cosmetic solution to transform a smile that is less than perfect into one that’s red carpet ready.
If you’re looking for a whole new smile, but don’t want to wait or have multiple procedures, porcelain veneers might be a good solution for you. For a stunning new smile with a single procedure, porcelain veneers can correct tooth color, shape, and minor alignment issues. Porcelain veneers are a popular cosmetic solution that will have your smile turning heads.
What are porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are a permanent cosmetic solution that can correct a number of issues. They are thin strips of tooth colored porcelain that are bonded to the visible surface of the teeth. With advances in techniques and technology, only a small amount of the natural tooth must be removed in order to make room for the veneers. Most of your natural teeth are kept intact, and the result is a beautiful, straight, white smile!
Are veneers right for me?
Porcelain veneers can correct a number of cosmetic dental problems, including teeth that are:
- Crooked or misaligned
- Small or large
- Stained, yellow, discolored
Refresh Your Smile
An unfortunate fact about teeth is that as we age, so do they. Over time, and with the help of some of our favorite vices – coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco – teeth tend to accumulate stains and become discolored and dull. We are all for aging with grace, but your smile shouldn’t be first to reveal your age.
There a lot of common misconceptions circling around teeth whitening – it’s bad for your teeth, it’s too expensive, etc. Our team at Go Dental is here to tell you that teeth whitening is not only safe and affordable but can work wonders on your confidence and self-esteem. Stop hiding a dull, aging smile, and regain your youthful glow with teeth whitening at Go Dental!
Is teeth whitening bad for my teeth?
The short answer is…NO! This is a common misconception that we would like to put to rest for good. Because whitening your teeth can cause minor tooth sensitivity for some patients, many take this as a sign that it is harmful to teeth. This is simply not the case. The bleaching agent opens up the internal channels of the tooth, allowing the product to penetrate and whiten deeper for maximized results. This is what causes sensitivity to hot and cold in some patients, but by no means are these effects permanent or dangerous – sensitivity should subside after 48 hours.
The Professional Difference
While over the counter and drug store whitening products (toothpastes, white strips, etc.) are great for removing surface stains, only a professional whitening treatment by your Pflugerville dentist can reach the deep stains that give your teeth their color. A professional whitening treatment is the best bang for your buck if you want to maximize results. In office whitening at your Pflugerville dentist is fast, effective, affordable, and can take your smile from dull to dazzling in a single appointment.
How does teeth whitening work?
At Go Dental, we use the Ultradent® in-office whitening system. This top of the line whitening system uses a gel and tray application, with average treatment times of about an hour, depending on your current state and desired results. The bleaching agent penetrates the enamel of the tooth, and oxygen molecules break the bonds of those deep, intrinsic stains, whitening the entire tooth.
How long will my results last?
In order to keep your smile sparkling for as long as possible, it’s important to understand how teeth stain and to try and avoid staining agents as much as possible. The biggest culprits that stain teeth also happen to be some of our favorite vices – coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco. We understand asking you to give up any one of those things is dangerous territory, we just want you to be aware of them, and to minimize contact whenever possible.
As always, we recommend brushing and flossing after eating or drinking anything (or at least rinsing with water). How long your results last depends on your habits, but we usually recommend a professional bleaching once every six months to keep your smile camera ready year-round.
